Gina Catches up with Josh Cachia after his Main Event appearance at Oakland on the weekend.

Fullnoise: Firstly Josh sad news on the JDR front. Any deals in motion for you back on home soil?

Cachia: Yeah a bit of this a bit of that (smiles) I don't know really at the moment it's all up in the air. It is all pretty new news to what's going on with the JDR team and etc.

But you know I've been a lifetime member of KTM so I think there won't be any real problem me going home and getting a ride on KTM or any other colour bike who knows. Just going to ride the wave at the moment, see who comes out with the goods when I get home and go from there. Hopefully I win myself an MX title.

Fullnoise: So Australia could see you switching brands altogether come first round of the Outdoors?

Cachia: Yeah I've got 2 opportunities at the moment which one I take on is another story, you know it's just early days.

I've been rushed a fair myself and my manager Adam Bailey have been working flat out. We'll just see what happens in 3 weeks when I am home and come first round I may be on a different colour who knows.

It is exciting you know as bad as it is, I am pretty excited just for the next stage of my life to see what that brings. You know you can either be down about it and depressed, or you can just get on with it and get over it.

Fullnoise: Possible sign on's aside, talk me through your happenings in the lead up to your blitzing LCQ?

Cachia: Today I went decent and the heat race was going to plan. I think I was in 6th or 7th or so behind Mozzi boy (Kade Mosig) actually for about 3 laps (laughs).

Out of the blue the front wheel got away from me and bang!! In the corner I came down. So that was about the heat race for me and I ended up coming in at 11th or 12th or something.

In saying that it gave me a decent pick for the LCQ. I didn't really want to get embarrassed. So I got a decent start and lead for 4 laps and got into the main thankfully I did, because I was probably going to quit after that! (laughs)

Fullnoise: Can't do that winners aren't quitters!

Cachia: I was getting pretty embarrassed with myself! But you know I got into the main with Mozzi boy - Two Aussies!! Pretty stoked about that.

I got another good start but I had crashed halfway through. Ended up around 16th I think so it's not the best. But hey it's a stacked field at the moment and the competition is tough. Other than that I came away safe, healthy and pretty happy with it. Onto the next one.

Fullnoise: A definite result improvement from last round of the Monster Energy SX at Anaheim. Was there much time spent testing leading into the round here at Oakland?

Cachia: I rode twice, I actually went to Vegas with Mosig and watched Cirque Du Soleil. So that wasn't too bad hanging with Mozzi.

Hey he even cooked me dinner a couple of nights! He is a good cook, we like good food so we eat like King's. Stirfry's, pastas, tuna pasta's - pretty much athlete food to fuel.

Fullnoise: Looking at the track here at Oakland is has by far been the most technical in the series to date. What are your thoughts on the layout??

Cachia: Yeah the track was tech, tight, rutty, and soft. Some sections were soft and grippy and other sections would go hard and dry.

I guess the tracks the same for everyone but you know I couldn't really get a flow. The best track so far this season that has been properly built is probably Phoenix and A1. From there this track here at Oakland has been the poorest built one - half assed.

Fullnoise: Heading back to Anaheim for Round 5, a place that hasn't been overly kind to you for the first two stints. Could it be a case of 3rd time lucky for you this time around?

Cachia: I am hoping because it's just not a good feeling not making the main! I need to pull me shit together and get in solid laps.

Anaheim hasn't been nice to me. So far the only rounds I haven't made is the Anaheim ones. It's one of those rounds where I am just going to look forward to because I need to redeem myself from this Anaheim curse.

Fullnoise: When can Australia and your fans see you touching back on home soil?

Cachia: Straight after San Diego I go home to God's Country. I miss my dog, I miss my girlfriend, I miss my house and I miss my Country most of all.

Plus I get treated like royalty over there, and in America I get treated like Joe Blow!

Fullnoise: Congrats again Josh, Thanks, All the best heading into A3

Cachia: Cheers thanks
