Fullnoise: Then at Coolum this weekend you done exactly what you needed to, you put your bike right up front in the first corner in every moto, it would have to have been a good feeling knowing you were up front at the start of every single race.
Cachia: Yeah for sure, surprisingly Coolum came easy to me and I am pretty happy it did as I was stressed out the whole week before it and getting pretty nervous.
I was speaking to Jackie my sports psychologists who helped talking some sense into me. I worked with here really well and worked with all the people around me really well and they all helped to get me calm and settled going into Coolum and it just felt like everything come together for me easily, and I was able to take out the championship.
Fullnoise: Your team this year, you were running out of the MXRAD / Coastal KTM tent, but you also looked to have some support from the JDR KTM team how was it to have the whole of the KTM operation behind you all season?
Cachia: Yeah it was good, it was good to have the best of both worlds really, Bondy (Phil Bond) builds a mean engine and we proved that again at Coolum by getting nearly every holeshot and with JDR team behind me no matter what I needed, they were just like a family to me, Derek and Trish would take me under their wing no matter what, It was really good to have two teams to work with and I was just stoked on how everything turned out this year. I was really happy with the way both teams helped me throughout the year.
Fullnoise: You also have a lot of friends and family that support you the whole way through, which was pretty evident after your win on the weekend, how important is it to have that support behind you?
Cachia: Yeah for sure my girlfriend Lucy and here whole family have been a major part of this championship, they have feed me and given me a bed and let me ride out on their property whenever I was there. My Mum, Dad, Nan and all my friends have all been right behind me, I don’t get to see much of them but I no they are all there backing me. I know I can always ring my Nan or Pop or my Mum for anything, if I need a quick flight somewhere they will always organise it. It is just a good feeling to know you have your family behind you 110%.
They definitely played a major role in getting me this championship this year.
Fullnoise: Where to from here, straight into Supercross training or will you have a bit of time off before you jump back on the bike?
Cachia: I’ll take be taking a fair bit of time off I reckon, It is normally about this time of year I start to get a bit stale , it is about that time to take a break. I didn’t even bring my gear bag up to my girlfriend’s house; I am just going to chill out for a couple of weeks.
I am still up in the air if I want to go to America and train a bit for supercross over there, or stay and train here and build a track, I don’t know what I am doing yet, definitely a three or four week break then get back into it.
Fullnoise: I will leave it there mate, thank you for your time and again congratulations on winning the 2010 under 19s championship.
Cachia: No worries thanks buddy.
