The seeds are being sown and the ground work being done to turn the fate of World Championship Motocross around. Former
promoter Youthstream has re-taken control from Dorna and set about improving relations and working towards a brighter future.
The first steps are being taken with French Motorcycle Federation (FFM) President, Mr Jean-Pierre Mougin and Youthstream
President Mr Giuseppe Luongo signing an agreement on the organisation of Grand Prix Motocross in France for the next four years.
Key points are that the FFM will decide the circuit where the MX1, Motocross of Nations, MX3 and European Championships will
be staged in France, and FFM will keep the relationship with the organisers. The FFM will only propose circuits that are
homologated by the FIM and that follow the Youthstream Cahier des Charges. The FFM has grunted to Youthstream the full respect
of contracts with organisers.
The following events have been agreed to by both parties:
| 2004 |
MX1 - St Jean d‰ÛªAngely |
|
M1 or 2 MX3 with European Championship |
| 2005 |
MX1 - 1 event |
|

| 2006 |
MX1 - 2 events (GP of France and GP of Europe) |
MXoN |

| 2007 |
MX1 - 2 events (GP of France and GP of Europe) |
|
1 or 2 MX3 with European Championship |
| 2008 |
MX1 - 2 events (GP of France and GP of Europe) |
|
1 or 2 MX3 with European Championship |
Jean-Pierre Mougin said: "From now on, the FFM will be able to guarantee the respect of a best sports logic to the
different French clubs, by applying the principle of a gradual progress from the French Championships towards the
European Championships and World Championships. The FFM is also very satisfied with such a contract, which will give
it the possibility to guarantee a great stability of the financial conditions proposed to the organizing clubs"
"Signing a contract with the FFM is the perfect example of how National Federations, organizers, FIM and Youthstream work
together towards one goal." Giuseppe Luongo stated.
"This is a clear sign of where the future of Motocross is heading - having all the partners involved and responsible for
bringing this sport bigger. Many other Federations are moving in this same way, and the day when we have all our Championships
(MX1, S1, MX3 and European Motocross and Supermoto) managed like this, success will surely come" he added.
