Yamaha Junior Racing‰Ûªs Brendon Walther and Jordan Hill raced their YZ‰Ûªs to the podium at round one of the Dirt Action NSW Motocross Championships, which was hosted by the Dubbo Dirt Bike Club over Easter.
The event format saw the YJR team mates race their YZ 125‰Ûªs on the first day and then follow up on day two aboard their YZ 250F‰Ûªs.
This was Jordan‰Ûªs first state title race since joining the team this year and it started off on a rough note with a nasty crash on lap one of his first 125 moto. Jordan recovered from having the wind knocked out of him and re-joined the race half a lap down but raced through to a ninth place finish.
Feeling determined Jordan produced a perfect score for the remaining two races for an overall finish of second for the round in the 15yrs 125cc division.
Day two started with a small crash in the first moto from which he re-joined in fourth place and charged through to pass for the win on the final lap. Another victory in moto two and a safe second in the final race of the day earned him the overall win for the round in the 15yrs 250 4T class.
‰ÛÏIt was great to get the state titles underway, my first race on the 125 was a tough one but luckily I was only winded and felt fine for the rest of the weekend. I felt great on my YZ‰Ûªs and I‰Ûªm glad I could follow up the second place overall on the 125 with a win on the 250F." Jordan Stated. "I‰Ûªll go away and keep working hard and I look forward to round two.‰Û
