Yamaha Factory Racing has confirmed the attendance of its riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies to compete for round 15 of the 2011 MotoGP World Championship at Motegi in Japan on 2nd October.
riders have expressed some worry about attending the GP following the Fukushima nuclear plant melt down earlier in the year, the Motegi circuit is less than 150km away from the power plant.
The event was moved to the October 2nd date following the earth quake that devestated parts of Japan and caused severe damage to the nuclear reactor at Fukushima. Since then the track has been given the all clear by the FIM.
Whilst Yamaha have confirmed their attendance, teams such as Repsol Honda and Ducati have yet to commit to the round.
The Yamaha Factory Racing team will race in Yamaha's WGP50th Anniversary red and white livery for the 4th time this year at the home GP of team owner Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd
