With the NOVA FM building as the backdrop, the 2010 XSport Games kicked-off with the official launch on Tuesday, as the hype continues to build around Sydney's biggest weekend of action sports on November 13 and 14 at the Sydney Showground, Homebush.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather, the official launch brought-to-life what's in-store for fans and families alike in November, with several big name Skate, BMX, Bull and FMX riders tagging along to add some pump to the launch.
The XSport Games is Australia's biggest action sports festival and will, for the first time, bring together competitors from all areas of the action sports arena to one place to compete for their share of the large prize pool and cash up for grabs.
Coinciding with night concerts and entertainment, rides and amusements, stalls and a 2-hour action sports spectacular show on the Saturday night, the XSport Games will create a carnival-like atmosphere for the whole family.
The four main competition sports will be Rough Riding (Rodeo), Freestyle Motocross, BMX and Skate, running across several platforms and events including Big Air, Best Trick and FMX for the moto guys. Dirt, Park and Flatland for the BMX crew. Street and Vert for the skaters and Saddle Bronc, Bareback Bronc, Junior Steer riding and Bull Riding for the Rodeo competitors.
However, other sports that will showcase their skills across the weekend include; Gauswheel riding, Skydiving, Paintball, Parkour, Rock Climbing and trick riding - guaranteeing something of interest for everyone.
One of the main draw-cards for the event is the inclusion of development classes across the main competition sports, a platform to gather young guys and girls together to further develop their skills, whilst being mentored and inspired by the best professionals in each respective sport. This is something that XSport Games Event Managers, Final Siren Events, take very seriously.
"The XSport Games only came together after extensive consultation with industry leaders within the action sports market, as well as the governing bodies of each sport respectively."
"We feel that it is imperative that the younger up-and-coming athletes get a chance to showcase their talents on a big stage, and hopefully, the pro riders will embrace this as well and offer their guidance to these young guys and girls, to ensure the future of these sports in Australia," said Final Siren Events',
Andrew Thomas.
Another critical aspect for the event is the support and operation of a majority of the sports under their respective controlling bodies including Motorcycling NSW, Skateboarding Australia and BMX Australia, further identifying the seriousness of Final Siren Events' commitment to developing talent and competition on the Australian Scene.
