For one round only, the Australian Women‰Ûªs Motocross Championship will run concurrently with Round 6 of the prestigious Nokia MX Nationals at Echo Valley race track in Toowoomba, QLD on Sunday 24 June.
In a savvy move by the Australian Motocross Industry, fans will be treated to twice the entertainment when New Zealand and Australia‰Ûªs top female MX riders compete at the same event as their male counterparts, bringing double the action to one of the country‰Ûªs favourite Motocross tracks.
The female riders in particular will benefit from association with an event that currently enjoys a much higher profile. This is a valuable opportunity for the women to participate in Australia‰Ûªs most popular Motocross meeting.
Kawasaki‰Ûªs Katherine Prumm, World Women‰Ûªs Motocross Champion and current Series leader will fly from New Zealand to compete. Prumm is expected to be a major draw card as spectators flock to catch a glimpse of the world‰Ûªs best female rider.
Also from Kawasaki, Daniel Reardon, Series leader and Australia‰Ûªs next big export to America, will go head to head in the Pro-Open class with second placed Suzuki star Daryl Hurley from New Zealand to provide yet more entertainment and international standard racing.
With the ability to produce an event like this, it is no surprise that Australian Motocross talent is attracting attention from the United States Motocross Industry. Make the most of this rare opportunity to see the best riders Australia and New Zealand have to offer, before they leave to make their mark in America.
