The fourth and final round of the Supermoto Club of WA‰Ûªs winter series will be held on Sunday, when the State‰Ûªs top riders will fight it out for the number one position.
WA‰Ûªs fastest supermoto rider, David Gellatly (KTM), will be hoping to wrap up the title, provided he has no dramas getting himself and his bike back from Queensland, where he achieved fifth in the S1 division at the last round of the National Supermoto championship on the weekend.
This Sunday‰Ûªs round, sponsored by Bikers Corner and Bel-Ray, will be at the Cockburn go-kart track in Gemma Road Henderson. Entry is free.
Gellatly has been a regular transcontinental traveller as he contests the 2007 WA and National championships, that saw him miss the first State round when his car broke down while he was on his way west and could not get it repaired in time to make it.
Hopefully, all will be fine for the young gun this Sunday so he can resume his battle with Brett Stewart (KTM), who has been at the front of the field at every round and almost finished ahead of Gellatly on points at last month‰Ûªs State round.
Rain is forecast for Sunday morning and Stewart has shown that he is brilliant in the wet and towelled up the field at the first round, which was a sodden affair.
Jason Taylor (Husqvarna) has also shown good speed in the wet and is not afraid to take it up to the leaders if he gets the chance.
However most riders are hoping for dry conditions, and with a forecast top of 23C, the weather could turn out to be perfect.
Racing in the lower grades is just as fierce as the premier class and Marc Follett (Honda) will be hoping to retain his ‰ÛÏKing of the B-Grades‰Û
