Victoria's Maryborough & District Motorcycle Club's, Alma Recreation Reserve, is the successful applicant in the Community Facility Funding Program, 2011/2012.

The Central Goldfields Shire Council Recreation Strategy 2008-2018 rates Alma Recreation Reserve Developments as a high priority.
Club membership has grown by 400% from 58 riders in 2005 to 305 in 2011. The Land Management Plan for Alma Recreation Reserve aims to address the dust conditions and to extend the use of the facility by 3 months. The plan's two key initiatives are to 1) install a track watering system 2) revegetate with native plants the areas between the track.
The club is implementing a Land Management Plan to improve the motocross track and reserve for riders, officials and spectators. The club has installed a new track watering system to control dust, improved drainage, built up the track surface in areas holding water, removed excess tyres and replaced with a better presented track marking system. The native plant re-planting is the next stage to be implemented under guidance from DSE to give plants the best opportunity to survive, leading into Autumn 2012.
The project was co-ordinated with key stakeholders. DSE ‰ÛÒ plant list, Pearse Plumbing, Reece Plumbing, Wayne Shay Excavations, Hampstead Gravel, CS Building Plans and voluntary club labour.
The JDR Factory KTM race team will make a special appearance at the track on October 16. The team will be bringing their race semi and their two star international riders,
Dan Reardon and
Tye Simmonds.
It is a great opportunity for locals to meet both the top riders and mechanics from Australia's biggest motocross team.
The Maryborough & District Motorcycle Club for many years held the annual Golden Wattle Festival race meeting which became one of the must do Motocross races in the 80's.
If you would like to go to the opening ceremony it will be at Alma Recreation Reserve, approximate 7 kms out of town on the Maryborough ‰ÛÒ St Arnaud Rd. VicRoads reference Map 58 C2
