Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsular will be the location of the third round of the 2008 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships this coming weekend 22 ‰ÛÒ 23 July 2008. The track is located off Longpoint Rd. Cape Shanck Melways 259-G2 and it looks like its going to be a great weekend of racing where Victorias best motocross riders will converge to race each other.
With Matt Moss (Shift Motul Suzuki) staying north of the border to race the NSW state series there will be a collective sigh of relief from the Victorian racers in both the A grade Lite and Open class as Moss and dominated and won all the races in the second round at Broadford on 12 ‰ÛÒ 13 July 2008.
Rosebud is a deep sand track that punishes both bikes and riders where every bit of power is required to get on top of it and to master the constantly changing surface.
This weekend the Lite class racing is on Saturday and the Open class is on Sunday, so its two days of action with the A, B and C grade classes racing for points to either pass their peers or consolidate their positions. Sunday‰Ûªs racing also includes the Open Ladies class where as usual the girls will be also racing for the coveted #1 plate.
The second round at Broadford was a contentious round with a lot of ill feeling on Saturday because of the lack of preparation put into the track and the ever changing position of officials on simple matters that should have been sorted out well before practice commenced on Saturday morning. Sunday was more relaxed but it was clear that it was a weekend where the officials were on the back foot and it became an ‰ÛÏOfficials V Riders‰Û
