Run over eight rounds the Victorian ATV MX Super Series 8, sponsored by Yamaha, comes to a close this weekend at Toolleen. This is the first time ATV's have raced at the central Victorian track and many classes will come down to the wire to decide the Championship.
In the Pro class Yamahas
Adam Siemensma leads by a slender 9 points and is being chased down by Suzuki backed
Paul Smith. The surprise of the series is Tasmania's
Jy Stokes who lurks just 6 points in arrears from Smith and has a realistic chance of taking out the series.
The Expert class also sees a close tussle between South Australia's
Darryl Watson and Victorian veteran
John Emanuelle separated by only a few points. The women's A class has been dominated by Sale resident
Jeanette Lindsay, Jeanette has swept all before her on her trusty Honda TRX450R. The junior 300 class has been an up and down tussle between Narre Warren resident
Mitch Van Vliet and Bairnsdale's
Carly Emanuelle, Carly for the past two years has shown the boys the way home, Mitch however has turned the tables this year and leads going into the last round.
Says Victorian ATV race director,
Mark Beechey, "this year again we have grown in every class, and each year we get more and more interstate riders coming to do our series. It is no doubt the most highly sought after Championship that this country has on offer. Victoria is very strong where ATV MX racing is concerned, I have no doubt that over the next few years we will see the numbers increasing and it won't be long till we see over 200 riders at our state rounds".
