Junior riders will get their chance to compete in an Enduro event when the Yamaha Victorian Offroad Series runs its first ever Enduro for juniors on the 22nd May at Erica, 30 Minutes North of Moe in Gippsland.
This will be a 1-day event commencing at 9.am for Junior and Intermediate (16 & 17 year olds) riders.
The event will be open to competition license holders who hold a national licence. Day licences are not permitted in a Victorian Championship event. Bikes may be unregistered as the event is on private property.
The enduro course will be conducted over 1-1.5 hours for J1 & J2 and 3 hours for the other classes. The format will be similar to senior enduro (but shorter) and will include time controls and special tests.
The terrain will be mountain side with cut tracks on a free flowing well marked course. Loop times will be about 30 minutes for juniors. The terrain is undulating and treed and the course will be well bunted and arrowed and maintained throughout the event with plenty of passing opportunities.
All riders will be given a time card. There will be a minimum of one special test during each loop.
There will be catering all day Sunday. The pit area is accessible by 2-wheel drive vehicle. The event is well located to attract entrants from all states to compete at national cross-country level.
