Round two of the 2008 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships heads north of Melbourne to the State Motorcycle Complex on Strath Creek Road Broadford this coming weekend 12 ‰ÛÒ 13 July 2008.
The Motocross track at Broadford, the home of motorcycling sport in Victoria, is just under an hour away from Melbourne up the Hume Freeway on the way to Sydney.
Broadford will throb with the sound of the big bore motocross bikes on Saturday with the Open class A,B and C class bike and the emerging Ladies Class bikes shredding the circuit and following them on Sunday will be the Lite class bikes in A, B and C grade who all will chase class honours.
It will be two days of racing action and the competition tough both in the respective capacities and classes. The track comprises a big part of the FIM World Championship track and offers great viewing from many vantage points around the track. Don't worry about which day to come as the Lite bikes racing is just as good as the Open class as the competition is just as strong.
The opening round at Bairnsdale saw some of the closest motocross racing that has happened in Victoria for years with Kade Mosig (Woodstock Honda) leading Adam Monea (Cool Air Troy Carroll Racing) in A grade Lites. In the Open A grade class everybody closely watched Lee Ellis (Honda Smart) battle with multi national champion and team fellow Cameron Taylor (Honda Smart) who took the round win.
Not to be forgotten is the B grade and C grade riders in their capacity classes and the Open Ladies who venture out onto the circuit on Saturday that likewise battle with their peers to achieve glory in their respective classes.
Racing starts each day at 9.00am with the practice sessions.
So bring the family (Yes there are clean toilets and facilities), a chair or two, comfortable enclosed footwear and a few $$ to spend at the canteen and see the best of Victorian Motocross action at the world famous Broadford motocross circuit.
