Simmonds first two events took to Pleasure Valley Raceway in Pennsylvania, and Nelsonville in Ohio, which both served as a qualifier for North East Regional events including the famed junior motocross Loretta Lynns, and the young gun did not leave unnoticed.
In Pennsylvania, Simmonds won the 125cc school boy class of 12-15 year olds, with two first place finishes, and followed through with a third place finish in the collage boy class. He also placed second in the 14-16 years 125 stock B and modified class.
While in Ohio, Simmonds won all four classes he entered including the 12-15 years, and 14-16 years school boy class, plus the 125 stock B and modified class.
Commenting on his opening success, Simmonds said, ‰ÛÏThis is a great start to my journey across the USA to compete against the best junior racers in the world.
‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm still riding under my Australian team banner Motorex KTM with bike support from KTM, so I‰Ûªm really here waving the flag for Australia as well.
‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm now in training to try and better myself for one of the biggest junior events of the year Loretta Lynns, taking place in a couple of months.
‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm riding and training with Zach Osborne from the USA, he‰Ûªs super fast so together we push each other pretty hard.
‰ÛÏNext we head to Georgia for another Loretta Lynns qualifier, so it‰Ûªs pretty intense back to back racing, which will hopefully end up seeing me pull a podium at Loretta Lynns.
