Team Cool Air Troy Carroll Racing rider, Troy Carroll, has broken the AC joint in his shoulder putting an end to his 2008 Australian Motocross Championships campaign.
Troy broke the AC joint in his right shoulder during testing and practice on Sunday 20 April at Echo Valley, Toowoomba. Troy fell so hard that he cracked the large rock that cushioned his fall. Troy goes into surgery next Wednesday to repair the joint and surgeons believe he will be out of action for 12 weeks, well and truly putting an end to his Motocross season.
Troy will more than likely be in a sling for 6 weeks, then continue his recuperation without a sling for a further 6 weeks before he can get back on his Kawasaki KX450F.
Troy is looking forward to being fit, healthy and ready for the Australian Supercross Championships in October.
Team Cool Air Troy Carroll Racing manager, Kevin Crutcher maintains his sense of humour saying, "This is devastating for the team, but that's racing. And I don't want to hear anybody say that it's fitting he did his AC joint considering our team's major sponsor is in the Air Conditioning game."
"Of course this is a set back for Troy but he'll come back strong for the Supercross season. Team Cool Air Troy Carroll Race Team's hopes are still well and truly alive with Pro Lites rider, Adam Monea, showing very promising form. His win last round show's everybody what to expect from the talented rider. Jake Pengelly is also on the mend from his broken collar bone and will return fit and strong for round 3. This is a set back for the team but it won't keep us off the podium!"
Team Cool Air Troy Carroll Race Team will be out to win at the 3rd round of the Australian Motocross Championships at Conondale, QLD 3 - 4 May. The team will have a yet to be announced rider competing in the Pro Open class on board a Kawasaki KX450F for the remainder of the Motocross season.
