The Treloar and Plaisted combination are striving to add yet another trophy to their collection and will no doubt be favourites will they line up in the Sidecars. Treloar and Plaisted has been a formidable outfit in recent years and have picked up their fair share of success along the way.
One of the most passionate competitors is veteran Paul Caslick and he will line up in a total of four classes. Caslick has enjoyed a stellar this year which has included Australian and NSW Championships wins in both Long Track and Dirt Track competition and he has his eyes fixed on further success.
Apart from the Treloar / Plaisted combo and Caslick, this Saturday's NSW Senior Long Track Championship is going to showcase many talented riders of the future. It has been the likes of Treloar and Caslick that have set the benchmark for the new generation coming through the ranks.
Long Track is regarded as one of the most spectacular forms of motorcycle competition and many of the senior riders in the higher powered classes reach speeds of up 150km/h. It is certainly a sensational sight.
Heading the list of local entrants are Todd Kurtz (Cowra), Tim Heffernan (Bathurst) and Grant Charnock (Cowra). All three riders are aiming to be amongst the leading contenders from the get go.
"Bringing the NSW Championship to the Blayney Showground is a major draw card for the local riders and it's kind of like a home 'Grand Final' for them in some ways," expressed Judy Doulman from the Panorama Motorcycle Club, which is the host of the NSW Championship. "Many of the local riders travel across the state of NSW to compete nearly every weekend. It's going to be a good change for them to only have to travel a short distance to compete this Saturday."
With in excess of 150 entries, the NSW Senior Long Track Championship for 2009 shapes up to be a huge event and many of the entries will be from the nearby Bathurst area. Riders such as Alan Cox, Michael Dyer, David and Steven McDonald, Greg Lack, Brad Furner, Andrew Wallace, Daniel Flanagan, Mark Young, Vinnie Burt, Martin Murphy, Colin Bennett, and Brad Cady.
The major sponsor for the NSW Senior Long Track Championship is the Bathurst Holden and owner Greg Brabham is going to be contesting this event too.
Apart from the NSW Senior Long Track Championship itself, there are going to be a number of Junior and Senior classes supporting the event. Riders from around the Bathurst and Cowra areas contesting this Saturday's NSW Senior Long Track Championship event are going to be Anna and Richard Fitzsimons, Steve Croker, Andrew Smith, Steven Hines, Brent and Angus Doulman, Jaiden Graham, Tom Duggan, Toby Pollard, Tom Scott, Zach and Ben Cook, Larz and Tye Burke, Billy Dawes, Brady Kurtz, Joseph Bugg, Adam Charnock and Isaac Ticehurst.
In total there is going to be close to $7,000 up for grabs for this year's NSW Senior Long Track Championship event.
The NSW Senior Long Track Championship is scheduled to begin at 9am and go right through to 6pm.
Admission charges are: Adults $20, Concessions $10, Family $40 (which includes 2 adults, 2 children) and children over 8 years old are $5.
The Blayney Showground is located at Lawson Street in Blayney.
