Cernic's Racing has announced that Travis Pastrana has made the decision today (Jan-20) to postpone racing for a few weeks until a cast he has been wearing to protect his wrist is removed and he can race at 100%. Pastrana injured the wrist at the Weston Beach Race in Britain back in October 2004.
Although Pastrana made the main event at the first two stops of the THQ/AMA supercross series, he was not able to compete at the level he expected from himself ...
"Without the chance of a championship, it is smarter for me to allow my wrist to heal 100%," Travis said while announcing the decision. "I am not going to come back until I can run up front. I thought I could start off slow and move up front - however the Phoenix race proved I cannot contend up front with a cast."
Over the next few weeks, Travis and his trainer, Todd Jacobs, have outlined a plan that will solely concentrate on his competitive return to the supercross series. Team Red Bull Cernic's/Suzuki will still be in Anaheim this weekend and Travis will be there as well, signing autographs with the team.
