With abnormal blue skies and moderate temperatures for the time of year, the final round of the Dutch championship saw Ben Townley take the honours at the typical Dutch sand circuit in Mill Sunday (Oct-12).
Townley powered his factory 125cc KTM to second place in the first heat, just unable to catch newly selected teammate Tyla Rattray. Both KTM Champ riders gave an exhibition in sanding riding skills almost lapping three quarters of the field. The second heat of the day was even more exciting as BT made the best of a mediocre start and carved his way through the pack until his was once again breathing down Rattray‰Ûªs neck. No sooner had he caught the South African, Ben made his move and continued to lead the race to the chequered flag which would give him the overall win.
‰ÛÏIt‰Ûªs great to end the year off with a win. I‰Ûªm looking forward to getting back home to see my family and all my mates. It‰Ûªs been a long year!‰Û
