In his first year in the senior ranks, Byron Bay dirt bike racer, Tom McCormack, has surpassed all but the state‰Ûªs highest-ranked rider to finish second in the 2010 Yamaha Queensland Enduro Championship.
McCormack, 17, finished second at the final round of the series held at Cherrabah Resort (near Warwick) at the weekend.
The YZ250F rider also finished second at the first and second round of the championship, easily giving him enough points to snare the number two plate for 2011.
