TM Racing Australia‰Ûªs Daniel McCoy showed glimpses of both his and his TM MX 250 two strokes potential at the opening round of the 2014 Monster Energy MX Nationals held at Bradford on the weekend.
With the MX2 class first out on track after a morning of persistent rain, McCoy posted a very respectable 8th fastest time in qualifying out of the 47 entered riders in the tricky and very muddy conditions.
When the gates dropped on moto number one, McCoy and his TM blasted through the first turn and quickly settled in to fourth position, holding that position until the end of the moto.
After getting tangled up in turn two in the second moto, McCoy put on a charge moving his way from mid pack to finish the race in ninth.
Things were looking great in the third moto, with McCoy jumping out to another top five start. He held strong in 5th position, before his day come unravelled near the end of final moto for the day.
‰ÛÏThe result in the first moto was a great start for the series, I finished fourth and rode consistent during that moto. McCoy explained. ‰ÛÏThe second moto my start was not as good as the first one, then in the second turn I got hit from behind which in turn knocked me into Clouts bike which was already on the ground from a crash he had.
‰ÛÏI made my way back from 16th at the end of lap one to 9th, that was the best I could do in that race, which was a bit of a disappointment.
‰ÛÏIn the third race I was sitting comfortably in fifth,‰Û
