All roads lead to Avalon on the outskirts of Geelong in Victoria this Saturday night (Feb-5) as the final round of Honda's Summer of Supercross and FMX unleashed series' concludes and the motocross season starts to take a stranglehold on the year. With former Australian Champion Craig Carmichael and current Australia Champion Cameron Taylor tied on points it will be a winner take all affair as the two go head to head for the title. South Australian Craig Carmichael will be the man to beat though as the privateer Honda rider proved at the previous round with four straight wins that he is dialed in and dangerous. "After round 1 I knew I had to train, I had the speed but not the endurance. Last week I felt I could have done another race. I had 5 weeks to prepare, and the work I have done has paid off. I need to carry the momentum into this weekend. My CRF 450 was getting of the line well and there's no reason why it won't again" added a confident Carmichael. Taylor has been in heavy preparation for the upcoming Maxxis Australian Motocross Championship and has proved his versatility as he has swapped between the two disciplines for the past couple of months. Last weeks whitewash by Carmichael took the veteran a bit by surprise but has vowed to come out fighting. "It was totally un-expecting, Carmichael rode brilliantly, I never came close. I am going into this weekend wit a lot more aggression, he caught me unaware and I won't let that happen again. I can't afford to", Taylor said. Team No Fear Honda's Troy Dorron will make a return to the series after being sidelined with an injury from heavy crash in the opening round. Reigning Australian Pro Lites Motocross Champion Cody Cooper will make his return to Australia for 2005 along side plenty of other Australian Champions. "I don't want them to have all the fun," Cooper said. "I am a racer, that is what I am paid to do and I want to be out there racing. I think I will do well, if I didn't I wouldn't be out there"

The crown for the Lites class will also be determined at the last round. Moss, Harvey, Sinclair and Williams are all within 7 points of one another. This in itself will create some intense racing. "I really want the win, I have been training hard in the off season and I want to repay myself and my sponsors with the series win. I know I have some stiff competition in Harvey and Sinclair as well as several other riders, but I know I can win I just need to get a good start" said Jake Moss. Australia's only freestyle competition FMX Unleashed is also fires back into action at Avalon on the same night. Australia's leading freestyle riders will go head to head in an aerial display that would better fit across the round in Avalon's air show. The riders are taking it to a whole new level and there will be no holding back. "Its awesome having the opportunity to display our talents in an Australian series, it's a long hike down from Townsville and I am not coming here for anything other than first again. After winning round 1 I have been practicing flat out in an effort to step it up to another level again"- Shaun "Richo" Richardson. Two other riders Cameron "SINX Sinclair and Blake "Bilko" Williams will be flying back from New Zealand to compete in both the supercross and freestyle motocross competitions. They are taking a granted break from their Crusty Demons of Dirt commitments to come home for the weekend's event's. Blake Williams will be one to return from his tour of duty and is looking forward to strutting his stuff in front of a hometown crowd. "I can't wait - I have been practicing many variations and am looking forward to displaying my ‰Û÷bag' of tricks this weekend. The back flip is something that I have become totally comfortable with. I have been pulling 20-30 a day leading up to Crusty's. I am looking forward to unleashing it this weekend at home, in my home state", said Williams For further information, times and prices visit the official site at. https://www.fullthrottlesports.com/sx/index.shtml
