CREAT-N-TRAX and Yamaha Motor Australia present the second event in the motorcycle trail ride series to be held at the historic Wirrabara Forest on the 11th of August.
CREAT-N-TRAX has bought round two of the three round series to this beautiful forest with cooperation from Forestry SA who have allocated a great area to ride in. Round one was held in the Mt. Crawford Forest and round three will be in the Second Valley Forest near Normanville on the Fleurieu Penninsula, October the 20th.
The Wirrabara event will be run as a one day motorcycle trail ride with up to 6 hours of riding available in this beautifully rugged country. The course will consist of two loops through the pine plantations and some tracks passing through native forest.
The course length is approximately 50 kilometres on fire tracks as well as some single trail to spice up the riding. Both loops will join to do the full distance or riders can opt to simply do a shorter loop as both loops meld into each other. Track builder
Gerry Jongebloed describes this forest as "the best he has ridden in", a big call from a guy who has put events in nearly all SA forests over the past 20 years.
Catering will be on-site and provided by the Wirrabara Progress Association, $5 of every entry fee giving riders a small meal and drink, extra food is available and we encourage riders to use the facility. Catering will be on-site from Saturday night with soup and casseroles on the menu for those opting to camp in the main control area.
Camping is available from Saturday afternoon with toilets on site and the meal facility cranking up late afternoon. The area we have for the main control and camping is at Woods Well which has a historic hut and shed dating back to 1860, a great camping area. The location is large and will provide plenty of space for camping and parking for both cars and trailers.
Each rider will receive a commemorative sticker for this trail ride and entrants who do all the rides will have a different one for each round entered. CREAT-N-TRAX has adopted Foodbank as our charity of choice and $10 of every entry fee will be donated to them for their great work in feeding underprivileged people. The first round held in Mt. Crawford raised $1000 for Foodbank and depending on entries we expect a similar amount to be donated for this ride.
