The Knighter tightens his grip on day 3

Australian 4 Day Enduro: review Day 3

Posted:

David Knight shone again yesterday with an icy sub zero morning frosty tests awaited riders on a day that cleared to be a sensational winters day of action on the thrid day of the Hogs Breathe Australian 4 Day Enduro in Coffs Harbour, NSW. Knight won the day by 31 seconds from Stefan Merriman and seems to do it easier as conditions toughen. Honda's AJ Roberts holds onto a solid 3rd overall but can't quite keep the pace with the two seasoned world championship contenders. Ballard' s Yamaha team rider Chris Hollis continues to hold a great 4th outright and Kirk Hutton is holding onto 5th outright on the screaming 125cc Yamaha! Riders had a total of 8 tests today and the Honda test was first up and looked like a white Christmas with a huge frost making life difficult for the early competitors. Action then moved to Ulong for the Yamaha, Fox and KTM tests which were raced twice and a huge crowd had gathered and soaked up world class tests and special test action on a sunny winter' s day. Riders returned to once again do the Motul test at the Coramba Parc Ferme before the 15 minute work period to complete the day. KTM's Ben Kearney to move into second in the ultra competitive 250cc four stroke class behind the flying Chris Hollis who has led the class from the get go on his Yamaha and 3rd overall is still with Adrian Smith. Glenn Kearney and Josh Strang teammates on the US Suzuki team have been battling hard in the 250cc class trading blows and virtually going tit for tat in class test wins all day long the final moto tomorrow will be very interesting between these two! Alison Parker is still dominating the women' s class but US ride Sarah Neff had a good day to grab second and haul herself to 4th overall and Rosie La Londe and Jemma Wilson have been trading blows for three days for the two final podium spots in the new official Women' s class.
