Over in Western Australia this weekend some of the countries top riders and top imports will in in action at King of the Cross.
Jay Marmont is heading over to see if he can win the event for the fifth time, though it will not be an easy win with the like of Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing's
Brad Anderson in the mix.
Local WA rider
Dean Porter who proved his hard pack skills at Appin last weekend and also showing some great form of late, will also be a contender for the win. Some of the other top riders lining up the Southern Cross Motorcycle Club will be
Louis Calvin, Luke Davis,Paul Humberston, Craig Anderson, Jarrad Hockley, and
Ryan Marmont who is slated to return to racings this weekend.
I spoke to Ryan briefly at Appin and he confirmed that his wrist was coming along well from his crash at Wonthaggi earlier this yaer and he was planning on getting some racing under his belt before the Supercross series gets underway. He will most likley to be on the starting gate for both the Moree and Coolum rounds of the Monster Energy MX Nationals.
The King of the Cross for 2012 will also double as round 2 of the WA Womens State MX Championship.
Heading South to South Australia, the fourth and final round of the Peter Stevens South Australian Motocross Championship will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Murray Bridge.
From all reports the track as spent the past couple of months underwater due to heavy rain falls in the area, however with a couple of weeks of little rain and most of the predicted rain this week staying away, things are shaping up nicley for the 260+ riders heading to the last round of the year.
With 20 riders in both the Expert Opens and Expert Lites classes for the final round, things are looking up for SA Motocross which has struggle to find ten riders to front for the final round in either class over the past few years and when the number of injured riders is taken into consideration those numbers look even better again for 2012.
