Tayla Jones Heads To The U.S.A After An Amazing Season In Australia

Fullnoise: 1st Up Tayla you have had a sensational 2014 season todate that has seen you compete in a huge variety of events, exactly what events have you raced in so far in 2014.

Tayla: I have had a great season racing just about every kind of discipline in the sport. I started off the year doing the Troy Bayliss Classic which was a dirt/oil track meeting. Then came the Enduro-X series before starting the Australian off road season. In-between all of the off roads I raced the Australian women's MX titles, the Finke and Hattah desert races and also went up to Queensland to race the Australian super motard championships.

Fullnoise: Talk us through your results in all the events you have raced in 2014, from AORC, A4DE, Finke, Supermoto and everything else.

Tayla: I was stoked to start the year off with a win at the Troy Bayliss classic, that sort of got everything going.

I was unsure how I would go at the Enduro-X but I did a bit of training with Chris Birch before hand which helped heaps and I came way with second for the series with a win at the Sydney round.

In the Aussie off roads I was having a great season finishing on the podium at every round and getting a couple of wins along the way, but everything does not always goes to plan and unfortunately I suffered a DNF at the final round in VIC which cost me 2nd overall for the championship but I am happy to have still made the overall podium.

The women's MX nationals was just like a turn up and race sort of thing because I had no preparation or training in the lead with all of the offloads so it was cool the end up 3rd for the championship.

The supermotard was also like that, I just rocked up to Queensland with a new bike that I hadn't even risen before and chucked a set of borrowed motard wheels on and away I went. It was a super fun event and it was cool doing something new. I ended up winning the women's title and came 7th in the pro s2 class.

This year was my first ever time competing at the Finke desert race and it has become one of my favourites events to race. It was a completely new experience and it took a bit of pre running to get into the hang of it but when I did i had a ball.

I was aiming for a top 100 before I started the event and to walk away with 59th and 4th in the 250 class was really awesome.

This year was my third time at Hattah and I was just looking to improve on last years results. My prologue went pretty good and I started off the front row which made things easier. My best outright finish before this year was 67th and to improve by 32 places and end up 35th outright this year was amazing and I ended up winning the women's class which was great.

Fullnoise: Did you ever think in your wildest dreams that you would tackle so many different events and disciplines in one year.

Tayla: Not in my wildest dreams would I have ever though about doing half as many events haha. I am just really lucky that I have great sponsors that put in time and money so that I can get to all of the races and be competitive.
