Although the original diagnosis of a broken shoulder blade has proved to be correct Tanel Leok and the Kawasaki Racing Team remain focussed on round one of the MX1 world championship at Valkenswaard in April.
After being consistently fast during pre-season practice and test sessions on the factory KX450F-SR, Kawasaki Racing Team‰Ûªs rider unfortunately picked up a small shoulder injury at the Valence international after crashing hard in the opening moto.
Back in Belgium earlier this week Leok visited Dr Claes who was able to confirm that the original diagnosis ‰ÛÒ a hairline crack in the Estonian‰Ûªs shoulder blade ‰ÛÒ was correct. The good news is that Dr Claes predicts that Tanel‰Ûªs recovery will be very quick due to the high level of strength and fitness the 22-year-old has.
It‰Ûªs expected that Tanel will be able to start training again in around two weeks time ‰ÛÒ running, cycling etc ‰ÛÒ and he‰Ûªll be back riding his KX450F-SR just one week later meaning that Tanel should be fully fit and up to speed in time for round one of the motocross world championships at Valkenswaard in April.
While any injury is perceived to be a negative thing KRT team manager Martin van Genderen is staying positive. ‰ÛÏWe can stay positive because we believe in Tanel and we know how mentally and physically strong he is,‰Û
