The North Brisbane Junior Motorcycle Club‰Ûªs (NBJMCC) premier event, the annual Glenn Fien North Brisbane Cup will be held on Saturday, December 14. 2013 marks the events 40th year and will be held at Mick Doohan Raceway, Northgate.
Racing along side some of Queensland‰Ûªs best young dirt track talent will be some of Australia‰Ûªs greatest motorcycle legends, including South East Queensland local,
Chris Vermeulen (MotoGP World Championship competitor ‰Ûª05-‰Û÷09) who will go up against fellow icon of MotoGP,
Troy Bayliss and other Aussie motorsport stars including
Stephen Gall,
James Deakin and
Garry McCoy.
The main event of the afternoon will be the Glenn Fien North Brisbane Cup Feature Race. This is an exciting 20-lap race for glory that was won in 2012 by Brisbane local
Jace Castles. This event offers a $2000 prize for first place and 2012 runner up
Hunter Anderson will be competing again in 2013.
From a spectator‰Ûªs perspective this is one event not to be missed! It is a rare event to have so many Australian motorsport legends in one place, let alone getting back to their roots, donning their gear and playing in the dirt like the good old days.
With fantastic vantage points and a realistically priced bar available (from 12pm), the North Brisbane Cup is a fantastic day out for the whole family. Gates open at 9am, with practice starting from 11am and racing kicking off at the conclusion of practice.
Spectators can catch all of the action from spectacular vantage points for $25 at the gate or $20 pre-purchased online from
www.nbjmcc.org.au. Family pass $60 and children under 4 free!
