Speedway racing will return to the Yarragundry Park track near Wagga Wagga this Saturday night, April 12.
Sidecar riders from three states will be on hand, while the long track sliders and modern solos have attracted entries from various parts of New South Wales.
Sydney ace Darrin Treloar, who won the Australian Sidecar Championship for a fifth time in Adelaide at Easter time, will have his title winning passenger Justin Plaisted back in the chair and they will obviously be the benchmark for Saturday's events.
Adelaide combo Damien Niesche / Klae Hobbs acquitted themselves well with a midfield finish in the Australian Championship meeting and they will contest this meeting to broaden their experience racing on different tracks and against different opposition.
Two Victorian riders, Stu Hartley and Mark Radford, and two from the Hunter region, veteran Mick Farrell and up-and-comer James Hinton are also among the entries.
The long track slider class will be highlighted by the appearance of Strider Horton and Daniel Mason, two of the best performed long track riders in Australia in recent years.
Their opposition will include Adelaide based Nathan Hedley and West Wyalong rider Quenten Byrne, both back in action after a spell on the sidelines, and Cowra rider Tim Heffernan.
Among the entries for the modern solo class are two of the most promising young riders in the state, both from the Hunter region.
After a stellar junior career in dirt track and long track racing Sam Masters has made a huge impact in his first year of senior competition and Wagga fans will get their first look at him on Saturday night. Michael Penfold is the other young rider of particular interest after some impressive performances in recent meetings.
Racing will commence at 6pm on Saturday.
