Sophie Newell has shown the boys and the girls how it's done during the annual Trackmasters Open Long Track event that took place at Barleigh Ranch Raceway, near Raymond Terrace in NSW, last Sunday (August 17).
Taking home wins in both the 80cc 2-Stroke 7 to Under 11 Years and Up to 160cc 9 to Under 13 Years classes during the event has boosted Newell's confidence dramatically as she was able to show that girls can do it in the dirt too.
The Junior classes saw wins go to: Mackenzie Childs (50cc Auto Division 2 7 to Under 9 Years), Sean McClellan (11 to Under 13 Years 65cc), Joe Barsby (80 - 160cc 4-stroke 11 to Under 16 Years), Boyd Hollis (65cc 7 to Under 9 Years), Josh Pickering (9 to Under 13 Years), Brendan Sharp (85cc - 150cc 9 to Under 11 Years), Sean McClellan (85cc 11 to Under 13 Years), Mick Blair (85cc 13 to Under 16 Years), and Daniel Begley (125cc 13 to Under 16 Years).
In the Seniors winners included: Alex Davies (250cc 4-Stroke 13 to Under 16 Years), Marty McNamara (250cc 2-Stroke), Alan Macdonald (250cc 4-Stroke), Alan Macdonald (Up to 450cc 4-Stroke), and Brad Sharp (Over 450cc 4-Stroke).
