Dirt track racers will get their long-awaited final shot at 2025 championship glory this weekend, 29–30 November, with the twice-postponed New South Wales Senior Track Championship finally set to run at Barleigh Ranch Raceway.
The Hunter Motorcycle Club has assembled a massive 80-event program across Saturday and Sunday, with the Pro 450 and MX Open classes expected to deliver the standout battles. Both categories will require four rounds of heats and a repechage before the all-important final decides each champion.
Local favourites Cody Lewis, Luke Bush, Connor Ryan and Brayden Gay are always in the hunt, but they’ll be up against a tough slate of visiting riders. Despite being part of the younger guard, they’ll face stiff competition from several seasoned campaigners as well as a new wave of rising talent now in their first or second senior season.
Among the experienced threats are Daniel Wicks from Gunnedah and Grant Charnock from Forbes, both recent national title winners. Emerging standout Billy Ryan from Griffith—who surprised many with his pace in the 2025 Australian Flat Track Nationals—looms as a genuine contender if he can carry that form into the weekend.
Bathurst rider Jett Carter has continued to build on an impressive junior résumé over the past two years, while Canberra’s 16-year-old Thomas Gotts showed strong pace during his senior debut earlier this year. Adding even more intrigue is Gold Coast talent Bodie Paige, who steps into the senior ranks for the first time.
The Pro 250 class is stacked with young riders and should once again deliver tight racing as the championship plays out.
Fans will also see plenty of variety across the program, with Dirt Track Sidecars and the ATV Open class both boasting competitive fields. Grant Charnock will be one of the busiest riders of the weekend, contesting the Dirt Track Sidecars in addition to his campaigns in the Pro 450 and MX Open divisions.
Beyond the main championship classes, the event also features racing from the Over 35s and 2-Stroke Unlimited categories, along with several junior classes showcasing the next generation of talent.
Barleigh Ranch Raceway, located on Barleigh Ranch Way in Eagleton, offers excellent viewing, with spectators able to see the action across the full circuit—making it an ideal venue to wrap up the 2025 dirt track season.
