Woods Point Police in Victoria have issued a statement saying, "At the moment there is a lot of water about as you well know and the rivers can be treacherous, follow your training and the experience of your best qualified colleagues and take the advice of local authorities, please keep safe.
"Our friends at the Mansfield DSE have been working hard lately opening and cleaning up tracks in the Woods Point area, here is a list of works already done or nearing completion from David Hurley of Mansfield DSE:
Listed below are the track works we have undertaken around Woods Point and Jamieson areas so far this summer.
Upper Cronans Track
Charles Road
Dearloves Track
Morning Star Track
Pheasant Creek Track
Tinger Spur Track , including into Tinger Mine Site
Noble Spur Track
German Spur Track
Clarke Spur Track
Kelly Creek Track( still working on this one)
Corn Hill Track from intersection Cronans Track back past the Mt Matlock tower to the Woods Point Road
Silvermine Spur Track
Steiners Road neat the slate mine

Webbers Creek Track
Abbot Link Track
Holylands Link Track
Snake Edwards Divide Track
Johnson Hill Track
Brocks Road above the Upper Jamieson Hut
Mitchells Track from the Slate Mine down to Mitchells Flat
The river crossings in the area are still running quite high and will be cleared again once the water drops.
DES are also building a new toilet at Comet Flat and installing additional fire rings & picnic tables at this location..
