The Battle for the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship expert crown has reached fever pitch, with mere points separating South Australia‰Ûªs top two off-road motorcycle racers as they head into their home state rounds this weekend.
South Australian Off-Road Champion, Ivan Long, sits just one-point ahead of 18-year-old rival and state number two, Rhyce Ahola, for the Expert Outright honor.
A mere two-points separate the pair for their class lead (as different points are awarded to class than Outright), with Ahola in front going into the weekend's rounds: nine and 10 (of twelve), being held at Kapunda.
This weekend‰Ûªs match, dubbed the Barossa Bar Banger, is doubly as important for the pair, with state round points also up for grabs.
