Former Australian Pro Lites Motocross Champion, Ryan Marmont had to pull out of last year‰Ûªs Australian Championship to undergo surgery which saw him give up his number one plate.
As the 2008 Championship gets underway this Sunday, April 6 in Penguin, Tasmania, Marmont has one goal ‰ÛÒ to win and regain his number one plate in the Pro Lites class.
Commenting on his race plan for the season, Marmont from Wollongong, NSW, said, ‰ÛÏThe opening round always shows who has put in the hard yards during the off season and I know I certainly have been, so this will give me an indication of everyone‰Ûªs strengths and weaknesses.
‰ÛÏMy most recent race was a hometown event at the Mt. Kembla motocross and I won the Pro Lites racing there, so I know my fitness and bike speed is where it needs to be.
‰ÛÏI‰Ûªve been doing a lot of testing on the KTM 250 SX-F with Motorex KTM Racing and the bike is ready to race, so I‰Ûªm eager to test it out against the competition.
‰ÛÏThe competition in the Pro Lites class has really stepped up and I know it isn‰Ûªt going to be an easy task to regain the number one plate. I see some of the toughest competition coming from my Motorex KTM team mate Todd Waters.‰Û
