The sixth and final round of the AMCROSS Series was fought out over the weekend (October 6 and 7) in Cooma and it saw both Brook Mitchell and Meghan Rutledge take out the honours for both the round and the series in their Senior and Junior classes respectably.
Rutledge was a standout of the AMCROSS series when she not only took out the round and series win for the 85cc 12 to under 13 years class, but the Junior rider was also the highest point scorer for the series outright. The youngster is the only female competitor in her class and proved that gender is no barrier when chasing for success. Senior rider Brook Mitchell claimed the round and also the series win in the 125cc class and achieved the highest point scorer in the AMCROSS Series overall for the seniors.
Round winners for Saturday in the Junior classes included Joshua Stenger (65cc 7to under 9 years),Callum Dunmore (65cc 10 to under 12 years), James Iconomou (85cc 10 to under 12 years), Luke Vaughan (85cc 14 to under 15 years), John Prutti (125cc 13 to under 15 years), Ben Williams (250cc 13 to under 15 years), Trevor Jordan (Parents), and Adam and Guy Fail (Family team event).
Senior round winners were Dean Hanger, who also took out the series in the 250cc and over 2-stroke class, Mitch Bush (250cc 4-stroke Group 1), Luke Bussa (250cc 4-stroke Group 2), Chris Rowlandson (Over 250cc 4-stroke), Darren Thompson (Over 35s), Garry Brown (Over 45s), Jessica Nesbitt (Womens) and Mal Cash who also took the honours of the series win in the All Powers A and B Grade class.
Cameron Steinmetz and Jake Mitchell took out the encouragement awards in their Senior and Junior classes respectively.
