Fire & rain has caused the cancellation of the Kooweerup round of the Yamaha Victorian Enduro Championship.
Due to unforeseen natural disasters the Kooweerup club have had to pull the pin on their 2 rounds, the 12th and 13th, that where to have taken place on the 14th and 15th of September.
Even after the horrendous Victorian bush fires swept through the middle of the Track that the Kooweerup club had organised for their rounds totally destroying any chance of having an event for the next 2 to 3 years.
The club then went out and found another site only this time the huge floods in the area washed the tracks & access to the camping ground away.
Undaunted the small club sent up a rescue party last weekend to see if they could salvage at least some of the trails to hold even 1 day, but were amazed to see 3 - 4 foot of silt over the camp ground and tracks washed away for good ... One of the crew even witnessed a caravan go over the top of the Dam wall.
"It will be a few years and many bulldozer hours later before we get back there by the looks of it," a spokesman said.
The result is unfortunately the events have had to be cancelled. With only 5 weeks left to their round the club feel it is to late to get anything up in time, but are looking forward to getting something sorted for next year.
