Yamaha Racing riders, Robbie Marshall and Jay Wilson wrapped up a massive week with two series victories in the Queensland Sunshine State Motocross series that was concluded over the weekend.
The sixth and final round at Tivoli Raceway saw GYTR Yamaha‰Ûªs Wilson and Northstar Yamaha‰Ûªs,Marshall take both moto wins on the day and as a result win the series in their respective classes.
Wilson, who has been gaining momentum lately, elected to do the race to keep his riding on the upswing. With the muddy track drying fast, Wilson put together two solid motos to win the day and with absence of the nations‰Ûª top MX2 racers, Wilson won the Pro Lites series despite only racing four rounds.
Robbie Marshall did much the same on his YZ450F taking the double moto victory at the final round and gaining enough points to get the series win in the Pro Open category. Marshall has been a consistent podium performer at Queensland events this year and took the series win ahead of fellow Yamaha racer, Sam Duncanson.
Duncanson rounded out the final round in second place just ahead of another Yamaha racer, Jesse O‰ÛªFarrell.
Combine the two pro championships and the results of YJR and Yamaha supported riders won five classes and finished second in two. It was a great effort, one that please Yamaha State Manager, Sam Fischmann.
‰ÛÏ2013 has been a fantastic year for Yamaha Queensland with the results of our riders. I congratulate Jay and Robbie on a job well done as well as Nathan and Wilson in YJR for their sensational results this year." Fischmann stated.
