Riley Dukes has wrapped up an Inthralling final round of racing in the New South Wales State Championships held at Appin on the weekend just gone to claim the 125cc junior title.
Heading into the round a handful of points down on his nearest rival, Dukes kicked started his bid for the state title with two solid moto results, winning the opening race before finishing in second place in moto 2.
As the gates dropped on the final race of the year, Dukes was locked on equal points with his title combatant and after exiting the first turn in third position, he quickly worked his way into second position.
With two laps remaining Dukes made the decisive move into the lead, taking advantage of having a clear track in front of him, he opened up a four second gap at the finish to claim the championship win.
"After a ordinary first round due to an injury I knew I'd have to perform solidly in all the remaining meetings." Dukes commented. "I'm really happy to come away with the 125cc championship, it means heaps to have done this for me and for Husqvarna Racing Australia in my first year with them.
"Thanks to Tam Paul and Roland Ward for your great support this year". Dukes added.
