On Friday the 18th September the delegation representing the 2009 Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations was received by the Italian Secretary of Sport, Mr. Rocco Crimi, and the Italian Senator Mr. Giovanni Torri at the Palazzo Chigi in Rome.
The delegation consisted of the FIM/CMS President, Dr. Wolfgang Srb, the Youthstream President, Mr. Giuseppe Luongo, the FIM Honorary President, Mr. Francesco Zerbi, the FMI President, Mr. Paolo Sesti and the FMI Lombardia Region President, Mr. Alessandro Lovati.
The main topic was the preparation for the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations which will be held on the 3rd and 4th October in Franciacorta in Italy. The welcome of International Political people, the various delegations, the fans, and the evolution and promotion of Motocross in general was discussed in depth.
Mr. Giuseppe Luongo, the Youthstream President, stated: ‰ÛÏWe are very proud about the promotion and the development Motocross has made over the last years, with our investment and hard work Motocross is now a part of the exclusive club of major sports. We thank very much the Secretary of Sport, Mr. Rocco Crimi, and the Italian Government for their hospitality and for their interest in our sport. The majority of our events are supported by central or local governments which is fundamental for the development of sport. We also thank Antonio Cairoli, Marvin Musquin and all other Champions who, with their achievements, have made a big contribution to Motocross‰Ûª notoriety.‰Û
