Reigning Australian Supercross Champion Daniel Reardon will return home from America to defend his championship in the new 7 round Super X Championship with support from Woodstock Honda Racing. Reardon will join international competitors, Chad Reed, Jeremy McGrath and Jake Moss who are all already confirmed for appearances. More high profile names are expected to be announced soon. In the U.S Reardon rides for the powerful Geico Powersports Factory Connection Honda team in the smaller capacity lights class, where he finished the Supercross season in 7th place. With the American racing scene at rest during the Australian championship it will be an ideal opportunity for 22-year-old to become acclimatized with the 450 again in a racing environment before returning to America where he will move up to the open class. "I‰Ûªm really pumped to be coming back to race in Australia and defend my Supercross title on my Geico Powersports Factory Connection Honda and we really appreciate the support from Woodstock Honda Racing Australia," Reardon said. "Racing here in the States has been intense and its great experience for me as a rider, which helps me develop as a rider and achieve the goals I have set in the future." "Reardon was in a class of his own when he left Australia at the end of last year, and now with a heap of experience and some very strong results in the US AMA series, it's going to be very exciting to have him in our team and to watch him race," enthused Woodstock team manager Brad McAlpine. "Dan is a definite contender for the Super X crown, and the Woodstock Honda team will be working to give him whatever support he needs to defend his title." Reardon began his racing career in his hometown of Logan Village in Queensland, Australia, at the age of five. From day one his parents Tony and Annette urged him to enjoy his racing, and Reardon embraced the social aspects of riding and racing in his early years. He emerged into his full potential in 2004 when he finished runner-up in the Pro Lites class of the Supercross series. Motivated by winning races and a determination to pursue a full-time racing career, Reardon took his success one step higher the following season and won the 2005 Australian Supercross Championship. In 2006, he competed at the factory level in the 450cc Pro Open class for the Australian Kawasaki Racing Team in both Supercross and Motocross, winning the Supercross title for the second time and finishing just one point shy of the Motocross crown. With both 2007 he finally left Australia with both titles.
