Later this month (November 25 - 28) Macarthur based Motocross rider Rachael Eagle will fulfill a life long ambition to compete in the United States, where she will race in the fourth annual Women‰Ûªs Motocross League Cup, the event billed as "The biggest women‰Ûªs Motocross race in history" will take place at Cycle Ranch in Floresville, Texas.
28-year-old Eagle will contest in two classes over the weekend, which will be the Junior Vets (25 years +) and the Intermediates class riding a CRF 250 for Groom / Gitch Moto Racing, where she will stay for a two week period.
"I cannot wait to get over there, this has been an ambition of mine since I started riding," said Eagle. "This is the biggest event for Women‰Ûªs Motocross in the world, I‰Ûªm hoping for a top 10 finish in both of my classes and this is going to be one of the best experiences of my life."
In other Groom / Gitch Moto Racing news last weekend (Nov. 6) Eagle competed in the fifth and final round of the NSW Stadium Motocross series at Penrith Showground. Competing in the Girls Lites class, Eagle headed into the round hopeful of stealing the series win, after she trailed leader Casey Green by seven points. Unfortunately for Eagle things didn‰Ûªt go quite to plan and although she wasn‰Ûªt able to win the series, she placed second.
"I knew that I had my work cut out for me heading into the final round, there were a number of incidents that I was a tad unlucky during the meeting," admitted Eagle. "All in all I was happy with my performance throughout the series, considering that this was the first time I‰Ûªve contested an entire series.
"It was a very challenging meeting at Penrith, the track changed all the time, you just didn‰Ûªt know what to expect each time you went out there, it was so very unpredictable."
After placing third in the opening race at Penrith, Eagle was in good stead, but in the second race things turned pear shaped when she suffered a fall which put her series hopes in tatters. "The fall didn‰Ûªt really help my cause, I knew once that occurred my chances were very slim, in my last two races I placed fifth and third, but I was able to hold down second in the series and congratulations to Casey (Green) for winning." she concluded.
