Round 4 of the Smarter than Smoking Western Australian Motocross Championship was held at Geraldton Motocross Club on the 22nd of July with Dean Porter once again proving his is WA's best MX rider.

Porter once again took the double, winning both the Pro Open and Pro Lites classes at round 4, in an awesome display in front of the biggest crowds the Geraldton club has seen.

Porter put on a show and dominated both classes winning all 6 moto's across the day. He now holds an 82 point lead in the Opens and a 61 point lead in the lites over his nearest rival Josh Adams.

If not for Porter, 22 year old Adams would be a shining light in WA but the return home of local star Porter from his trip to the US in 2011 with increased speed and abilities has left all riders in his wake.

Adams was fluent and consistent in all motos at round four, leading him to finish 2nd in the lites class and 3rd in the opens this weekend has put him in a good position leading into round 5.

Adams won the WAMX Elite Rider incentive award back in 2009 and has shown the promoters their faith in him was well warranted.

Luke Davis took 2nd in the Pro Open Class. Davis has shown moments of brilliance throughout this series after missing last year with injury, this round saw him with 4-2-2 race finishes and now sits in 4th place overall in the Pro Open championship.

In the Lites class Ashley Whisler smooth riding style was good enough to hold off charges from David Birch and Robbo Lovett to take the final place on the podium

In the Pro Quad Championship, the first moto at Geraldton was lead by Luke Gaisford with Ryan Lancaster taking 2nd and New Zealand's Andrew Vincent 3rd, while moto two saw Gaisford have a mishap in the first corner, spending the entire race getting himself up to third with Vincent taking 2nd and Lancaster a convincing win.

Moto 3 saw Joel Mortimer take the lead early with Lancaster and Gaisford close in behind, soon overtaking the youngster to take 1st and second, with Vincent again coming through for 3rd, his first podium in Australia.

The Series next head to Noble Falls, Gidgegannup on the 12th of August.
