Making his return to national level riding aboard a YZ250 2-Stroke for the team in the MX2 class was New South Wales rider Keiron Hall.
A crash early in the first moto of the day did not dampen Hall's spirits and he quickly bounced back with a fine 11th place finish in Moto 2.
Hall surprised most at the Appin venue in the final moto when he shot out to a top three start at the beginning of the final moto and held strong all moto long to be the first rider this season to secure a top three race result on the two stroke machine in the Motul MX2 class.
His final moto finish behind the top two rider in the championship standings in Luke Styke and Ford Dale was good enough to earn Hall 9th overall for the day.
‰ÛÏI had an average first two races, had a few bike problems and a stupid little crash up the top" explained Hall.
"The last race went really well for me, got a 3rd place and got a good start, good starts are not normally like me
"I‰Ûªm happy with the overall day, I hope to have the 250 2-Stroke up the front again, hopefully this is just the start of things to come" he concluded.
Fellow MX2 rider Steve Duncanson showed some great speed but ended up having a few crashes, including a nasty which cut his arm open.
After coming together with another rider and getting his arm wrapped up in the riders sprocket, Duncanson spent some time in the Suzuki Racesafe truck getting stitched up.
‰ÛÏIts awesome to have those guys at the track to help me out like that and not have to go to hospital‰Û
