Brisbane‰Ûªs Mike Jones has taken second outright in the opening round of the Australian Superbike Championship at Queensland Raceway that saw the cancellation of the second and final race for the category on Sunday afternoon.
In just his third race meeting in the category, Jones impressed many by matching times with his factory backed opposition riders.
Jones was able to continue his impressive introduction to the higher powered Superbike category, using home track experience to secure second in both qualifying and Superpole sessions on Saturday.
In what has been a busy season to date with a heavy emphasis on testing and development, Jones is happy with his progress to date.
