The cream of Australian motorcycling on and off-road talent is set to come together at Phillip Island, with confirmation that the Australian Supercross Championship will feature alongside the 2012 AirAsia Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix from October 26-28.
Up to 120 competitors will take part in round two of the Australian Supercross Championship on a new track located in the Lukey Heights precinct at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
The purpose-built arena will feature racing on the Saturday and Sunday of the Grand Prix event with prime spectator viewing for all event ticket holders at no extra cost - another incentive for fans to attend the biggest two-wheel motorsport event on the Australian calendar.
Dirt bikes have been the breeding ground for a host of star Australian road racers, with five-time 500cc World Champion Mick Doohan, 1987 World Champion Wayne Gardner and reigning two-time MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner all cutting their teeth in off-road racing.
