The Yamaha Junior Racing duo of Nathan Crawford and Wilson Todd dominated proceedings at the Yamaha Queensland Motocross Championships held in tropical Townsville Under clear blue skies and balmy winter weather.
Out of the 12 races the duo contested over the weekend the pair won all 12, winning the 15 years 250cc, 13-14 years 250cc and a 1-2 finish in the 13-15 years 125cc.
Crawford took all four race wins in the 15 years 250cc and leaves his last year as a junior racer with the Queensland number 1 plate. Crawford was in top form throughout the three day event, charging through the pack or taking wire to wire wins over some good competition.
Wilson Todd matched the efforts of his team mate in the 13 ‰ÛÒ 14 years 250cc also winning each of the four races in convincing fashion. Todd took control of each race in the early going and was a cut above his rivals.
But both riders were pitted together in the 13-15 years 125cc and like every other event this year, the pair produced some great racing. Todd won the first moto, Crawford bounced back for wins in races two and three, with Todd taking the last one.
The only result separating the pair was a fall in race three for Todd saw him finish that race in third place and as a result Crawford took his second championship with 2-1-1-2 scores just two points over Todd with 1-2-3-1 results.
