With the ATV racing season getting underway this weekend with round one of the Tri State MX series at Murray Bridge, South Australia, the MXN Polaris Racing team are prepped and ready fro action after a flurry of activity and an 18 hour drive.
Team manager and rider Michael Roycroft and his team have been working tirelessly on preparations for the event.
Roycroft will debut the IRS Polaris Outlaw in the Pro MX for the 3 x 20min motos, this will be a first time an IRS has competed at the top level in Australia.
"I am hoping the track is fast and rough as this will suit the IRS but I have been testing the bike with big jumps and whoops and to be honest there is nothing my IRS can‰Ûªt do that a straight axle can," Roycroft said.
Rob Roycroft will be riding the Outlaw MXR 450, Rob only has approximately 2hrs on the Polaris so far this year, but with Rob‰Ûªs natural ability and the bike setup the team runs, he is proving to be very comfortable already on Polaris.
Michael has also been busy finalizing the team sponsors in the past weeks and is pleased to be able to say that Pro Grip, Forma Boots and Kenda tyres have come on board as riding apparel and tyre supplier to the team.
The riders will wear, Pro Grip ride gear, goggles and helmets for 2010, and with Forma boots just arriving in the country, they are excited to be one of the first to take delivery of the new boots in the coming weeks. Kenda Tyres have also come on board and the bikes will wear a mix between, the Kenda Claw MXR and SX for MX and the Parker DT for the enduro racing.
Unfortunately the team will travel to the race this weekend in a borrowed trailer as their new race rig is not quiet finished.
"This race came up on us pretty quick and it was a last minute decision to go, we were thinking we weren‰Ûªt going to be ready to go with bikes. I would of liked to have had everything 100% ready, also the sticker kits for the bikes are also under development and should be ready in a couple of weeks," Michael Roycroft explained.
