Italian supermoto supremo Davide Gozzini -- already confirmed for the Australian Supermoto Championship -- will be joined by British riders Christian Iddon and Lewis Cornish.
Iddon, an international supermoto rider from the UK will contest the two-round championship in WA next month, along with dual British Junior Supermoto Champion
Lewis Cornish, 16.
Entries for the event, to be held on November 27, 28 and 29, are filling fast and a strong field of Australian riders is expected to have a crack at knocking off the internationals at the Supermoto Club of WA‰Ûªs Wanneroo track.
Minesite services company HWE Maintenence Services has provided strong support for the championship and is the naming rights sponsor.
Gozzini, who will be riding a production-based TM450SMR fitted with suspension he will bring with him, is the clear favourite after winning the Italian Supermoto Championship and coming second in the World Championship.
It will be Gozzini‰Ûªs second trip Down Under after his debut on a street circuit in Northam, WA, at the final round of last year‰Ûªs Australian Supermoto Championship, where he blitzed the field with astonishing speed.
Iddon will be riding a replica Aprilia 550VDB, which was ridden by
Josh McFarlane in last year‰Ûªs championship.
Cornish will be on a borrowed Honda CRF450 that will be sent to WA from Melbourne by its owner, Marty Duke, spare parts and accessories manager at Yamaha City in Melbourne.
Seven classes will be competing at the event, ranging from championship contenders to clubmen, women and veterans.
The WA Government is also supporting the event, to be held at the Wanneroo International Kartway in Wattle Avenue East, Neerabup.
