MID WEEK MOTO Our Weekly Look Into All Things Moto

Author: Aaryn Minerds

Welcome to MID WEEK MOTO presented by, our weekly look into all aspects in the world of dirt bike racing.

From the weekends racing results, to the more interesting and unusual happenings from the week gone by including some of the rumours and findings on social networks, we will take a look and anything and everything dirt bike related.

AMH SUPERCROSS HAILED A SUCCESS: From all accounts the opening round of the AMH Queensland Supercross Championship was more than a little successful with a handful of Pro riders not only rocking up to race but also having nothing but great things to say about the event.

Along with speaking to Robbie Marshall who promoted the opening round we also caught up with Pro Lites round winner Brenden Harrison and have had a press release come through from the TM Racing Australia team with everyone more than happy with how things were unfolded. Keep an eye out on the site to see the article with Harrison and a full interview with Marshall.

Check out the above video from Just2Wheelz to catch all the action from the event including a great wrap up of the day by the voice of MX and SX in this country Kam Williams.

MORE TO COME THIS SATURDAY: There is no break for the Queensland riders, with round two of the state series heading to the Haworth property in Leyburn.

Word on the street is the track this weekend is one of the best every seen in Australia. If you are in the area or within driving distance, make sure you head down and support this great series.

TOOWOOMBA TO FOLLOW: We are also now just over a week away from the final round of the Australian Supercross Championship. The Toowoomba track last year was one great looking track, though the event itself while very good, finished with a bit of an anti climax when the rain came down.

Hopefully the rain will stay away this time around and the close championship fight in both the SX Lites and SX Opens can play out in front of huge crowd.

FROM ITALY TO BERCY: Last weekend saw an all American podium at the Italian Supercross with Factory Honda pilots, Trey Canard and Justin Barcia splitting main event wins, with Barcia getting the win on count back. Wil Hahn rounded out the podium.

This weekend will see the riders head to the famous Bercy Supercross with the two Honda pilots once again expected to be the riders to beat.

A day that at least 38 riders will never forget, riding along side both Brett and Shane Metcalfe and listening to Stephen Gall explain how to do things is a very rare treat - Credit: Maddee Corbett
METTY HEADS HOME: 28 Junior South Aussie riders and 38 senior riders were lucky enough to attend a special Y-AIM Riding school on Sunday at Gillman in S.A with special guest coaches, Brett Metcalfe and Australian motocross ledgend himself Stephen Gall.

We were lucky enough to spend the day on track participating in the school, gaining some great advice, keep an eye on the site over the coming week for some more inside info on the whole day. We certainly captured a lot of the day on our Drift Innovations Ghost HD.

Let the Rumours and Guessing Games Continue: Over the past couple of weeks we have been trying to play a bit of a guessing game on where riders will line up in 2013 and while our lists from the first two weeks have been based mainly around rumour and some flat our guesses on my behalf the rumour mill is starting to get stronger and some of the line ups are starting to fall into place.

In saying that though, there is still a long way to go before everything is settled so again we will base our list on a combination of strong rumour and hope!

Again this is ALL PURE SPECULATION ON MY PART! We have NOT spoken to any Team Managers or Riders regarding next season, though we will be asking a lot more questions once the 2013 season officially ends on November the 16th at Toowoomba.

Until all the teams are 100% confirmed for 2014 we will run this list weekly, then check back in a few months time once all the deals are done and dusted to see how close or how far away are original guesses where.

NOTE - We are not even sure that Husqvarna and / or TM will have official factory teams on the line in 2014, or that any or all of the current naming rights sponsors for the current teams will be in place.

Silly Season Week 3 Updated List:
Sam Martin has been the stand-out young rider in the MX1 class in 2013, will he stay with his privateer team or be snapped up by a factory team for 2014 - Credit: Aaryn Minerds
CDR Yamaha: Billy Mackenzie (Looking likely) / Jake Moss or Jay Marmont (pure speculation, though both deserve a factory ride)
Carlton Dry Honda: Hayden Mellross (Pretty confident, though not sure what class) / Cody Cooper (Riding for Honda in NZ) Lawson Bopping (Rumor / Speculation, top rider that has to land somewhere)
Motorex KTM: Kirk Gibbs (All but done) / Ford Dale (Very Very Strong rumor)
Motul Pirelli Suzuki: Matt Moss (Pretty confident with this one) / Jake Moss or Jay Marmont (pure speculation, though both deserve a factory ride)
Monster Energy Kawasaki: Adam Monea (Pure Speculation but shown enough in year one) / Kade Mosig (Pure speculation, could be a good fit)
Husqvarna: Jay Marmont (Pure speculation would be a great rider for a first year team / James Booth Elliot / Jacob Wright (Pure speculation but both would be great young riders for future development, both only 19)
TM: Daniel McCoy / Simon Thompson (Possibility though more likely as a privateer backed effort) DPH Suzuki: Sam Martin (They have a good thing going and would be worth building on, rumours suggest this will be the case, though Martin would have to be seriously looked at from the factory teams after this year)

NOT MUCH ELSE GOING ON: - There is not much more going on in the MX scene at the moment, though we are expecting to hear some more announcements regarding the 2014 MX Nationals in the coming days/Weeks

Graham Jarvis will be aiming to win both the 2013 Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro and the 2014 ERZBERGRODEO - Credit: File
ERZBERGRODEO FULL: The 2014 edition of the ERZBERGRODEO which incorperates the Redbull Hare Scramble was completely filled with 1500 riders with in a few hours of registrations opened on Tuesday! Not bad for an event that does not take place until the end of May next year!

WILDWOOD ROCK EXTREME ENDURO: The Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro has a star studded line up this year with both factory Husaberg riders in Graham Jarvis and Alfredo Gomez heading down under to race Matthew Phillips for the big purse this Sunday the 10th of November.

Keep an eye on the site for more information on this event later this week.
