Australian pro supercross riders Shane Metcalfe and Danny Ham will compete in the German Supercross season
which begins this weekend (Nov 11-12) in Stuttgart, Germany.
Metcalfe, who finished 5th in the 2005 Australian Supercross Championship riding for the Australian factory
Kawasaki outfit and Ham, who finished 7th for Suzuki, left Australia today (Tue - 8th) where they will stay
for two weeks before returning back to Australia. Both riders will make a further two trips for the following rounds.
After Stuttgart the duo will compete in Vienna on Nov 19-20, Chembitz, Germany on Dec 2-3, Munich on Dec 16-17
and 18 before the season concludes at the largest event, the Supercross of Dortmund on the 6-7 and 8th of Jan 2006.
Metcalfe will ride for the Kawasaki Elf Team Pfeil team, whilst Ham will ride for Team Suzuki. This will be
Metcalfe's 2nd trip to Germany having finished 3rd overall on a Honda when the season was a full series back in 2002.
"I am feeling pretty confident about the trip", Metcalfe said. "I love Supercross and am pretty happy with
how my Australian season went. It has been a long rode to come back from the injuries I had, but my fitness
and confidence has come on in leaps and bounds so I think I will do well in Germany. I am well and truly in
supercross mode at the moment and I think that will be an advantage as well" he added.
