O‰ÛªNeal Honda‰Ûªs Shane Metcalfe finally broke through for a much needed Pro Open victory at the Brisbane Supercross Masters finale on October 11, securing third in the title. Metcalf regained the form that saw him take out the season opener in Gosford but a spate of crashes and injury would see the Mt Barker (SA) rider struggle throughout the season. ‰ÛÏAll I was thinking was to keep it smooth and not make any mistakes cause it‰Ûªs going to hurt,‰Û

Troy Carroll (CDR Boost Mobile Yamaha YZ250F) kept his unbeaten record intact with another start to finish win in the 1800 Reverse Pro Lite final. Mitchell Hoad (AXO Silkolene Suzuki RMZ250) and Jono Porter (AXO Airtime Suzuki RMZ250) made history as well in making it an all four-stroke podium. ‰ÛÏIt‰Ûªs a great feeling to win at any Supercross but the be unbeaten all year is something else,‰Û

While the riders now move onto Gosford for the last race (Non Championship status) on November 1. World Supercross champion Chad Reed will be added to the draw making him the yardstick that every rider wants to beat. Metcalfe summed up his chances saying, ‰ÛÏNot many people over there can keep up with him so we‰Ûªll just have to see what we can do.‰Û
